Djalin was established in 2016, as a brand under parent company PT. Kriya Selaras Internasional. The word ‘Djalin’ is taken from the Bahasa Indonesia lexicon. ‘Jalin’, meaning of loom, interconnection and togetherness between makers, designers, creators, and our community. Hand in hand, we at Djalin hope to build a new generation of good quality, Indonesian contemporary design. Every design is rooted in Indonesia’s rich culture, nature, history and craftsmanship carried into contemporary Indonesian design. Indonesian traditional craftsmanship carried into contemporary Indonesian design, by Indonesian artisans. Sustainability is a core value of Djalin, supporting and uplifting local artisans, and ethical material sourcing, all fit into our mission to reinvent traditional craftsman ship with the best of local materials. We at Djalin have proudly been collaborating with many local artisans since 1989, specializing in natural rattan, loom, fully recyclable synthetic plastic rattan, and metals including aluminum and steel, with natural and non toxic finishings.
